Wandering Hedgehog on UK privacy threat

The Wandering Hedgehog (my politics blog) emerges from hibernation with a post about an urgent threat to UK privacy rights (as highlighted by No2ID).

If you trust Jack Straw – that stalwart defender of liberty! – when he says a proposal is “compatible with human rights”, then you can relax. The rest of you may want to write a letter to your MP pretty sharpish: second reading of the bill is on Monday 26 January. See the No2ID post for details.

You wrote, “If you trust Jack Straw – that stalwart defender of liberty!” Do I sense a tongue in cheek attitude here?
