Tapping people for cash

A rather more prosaic query for my next “crowdsourcing” exercise. I’ve been tasked by our church to produce a combined standing order/gift aid form for people to complete. I don’t know if any church treasurers read this blog, but I’d be grateful if anyone with experience of doing this in a UK church context could help with the following queries:

  • Does anyone have (or know of) a precedent form which I can use as a template?
  • How do you go about getting people to sign up to the standing orders? Do you ask them to give you the completed form, and if so what do you then do with it?

Any pointers on this would be greatly appreciated.

NB: despite Dave Walker’s wonderful cartoon on the Church Times site, “fresh produce” is not currently an option for us. 🙂
