Welcome to Jazz Club – nice

Call me closed-minded, but I am not – to put it mildly – a fan of most jazz music, especially what you might loosely call “modern jazz”. Which is why I’ve always treasured the Fast Show’s “Jazz Club”, and was delighted to find this “best-of” compilation on YouTube:

Don’t miss the jazz version of John Cage’s 4’33”, starting at around 6m 50s on the video.

Nice!!! Love the guy counting it off there… Hilarious.

Still – I’d rather hang out at Jazz Club than
    Indie Club, um, most days,
    maybe not on Christmas though.

    Of course not… you’re only about 16% hippy, remember, unless you’ve been re-calibrated since Summer 2004. 🙂

I’m guessing that if I lent you Soweto Kinch’s A Life in the Day of B19: Tales of the Tower Block – a kind of jazz/ hiphop crossover, with spoken word contributions by former BBC newsreader Moira Stuart – you’d be won over. Either that, or you’d delete us from your Christmas card list.
