Twenty weeks

The other week I mentioned the Alive+Kicking petition in support of the campaign to “make abortion rare”. This petition currently has around 25,000 signatures, and will be presented to parliament shortly. Click here to add your name to the list (UK residents only).

A key aim of this campaign is to reduce the age limit for abortion to 20 weeks (from the current limit of 24 weeks), and Nadine Dorries MP is promoting an amendment to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill, on which parliament will be voting later this month.

A new petition has been started in support of the 20 weeks campaign, and UK readers can sign the petition here. New signatures are being added at the rate of about one every 23 seconds, so hopefully the petition will attract large and wide

If you need persuading, here are twenty reasons to support twenty weeks.
