Today’s sermon from our church is now available on the audio downloads page.
Our pastor tackles the gospel reading from Mark 13:24-31, and in particular one major question that this notoriously difficult passage poses, namely: “What event is Jesus referring to?”:
- His death and resurrection (when “the sun [was] darkened”, and the earth was “shaken”)?
- The destruction of the temple in Jerusalem (“When you see the abomination of desolation standing where it ought not to be”, verse 14)?
- Or his second coming at the end of time (When “they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory”)?
The answer our pastor gives, by the way, is: “Yes”.
